This
21 Year Old Patch
is part of the collectible series of patches issued by The Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Wildlife Conservation Officers Training Classes.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is the wildlife management agency in the State of Pennsylvania.
As each class of Wildlife Conservation Officer Cadets goes through their training they, the class, design and issue a Commemorative Patch marking the classes successful graduation of officers to the field.
Each class designs something different and the patches are sold to the general public to generate funds for use by the cadet class to offset graduation and class expenses.
Up till the year 1987, these cadets were given their training at the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s training facility entitled the Ross Leffler School of Conservation located in Brockway, Pennsylvania.
That training facility and training program was started by the Pennsylvania Game Commission in 1932 and was the first training program of its kind in existence.
It was the model used by many other states to train their wildlife conservation officer cadets.
In 1987, the Pennsylvania Game Commission took action and closed that training facility in Brockway, Pennsylvania and moved the training program to its current location at the agency’s central headquarters building located on Elmerton Avenue in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
These class patches are a very collectible part of the agency’s history.
They are beautiful and well-made patches and we do have most of the different class year patches currently in stock and will be offering them for sale on eBay.
Most of these patches are available in 4” & 6” version with some even being part of a limited edition series.
We will be offering all three series for sale in our family run eBay Store in the future!
The patch is guaranteed to be an original and not duplication as it was acquired directly from the agency by one of our family members.
This patch features a scene of a picture of a Male Wild Turkey, a Male Whitetail Deer and a Black Bear in the top portion of the center of the patch.
Pictured below these three things is a shape representing the geographic shape of the state of Pennsylvania.
In the center of that shape, in yellow lettering, is the wording “
Wildlife Conservation Officer
”. Above this scene in a step down banner arrangement in green lettering is the name of the training facility / program, “
Ross Leffler School Of Conservation.
Still in the step down banner arrangement, but at the bottom of the patch, is the following information on the Wildlife Conservation Officer Training Cadet Class:
“
1936 Twenty Fifth Class – 2000
”
1936 being the year of the first graduating class of Game Wardens ( now called Wildlife Conservation Officers ) and 2000 standing for the year the 25
th
class graduated.
This lettering too is in green.
Surrounding all of this is a well-sewn border of brown.
The patch contains 3 different size / styles of lettering and 7 very vivid different colors. The backing on the patch is different from the older cheesecloth type.
The backing is rubberized to add to the life of the patch and better protect the sewing, which make it up.
If you are a collector of patches, you know that the more colors in a patch, the more valuable the patch is.
This patch is no exception and in addition is one that is in great demand as it was the part of the agency’s history and a very collectible commemorative patch.
The patch our family is selling in this eBay Listing and the patch you will receive are new / unused and have not been sewn on any garment, material or item.
The patch you will receive will be in excellent condition and the same as the one seen in the photographs. We do use stock photographs in our listing ads which means the patch you will receive may or may not vary slightly in color or patch detail.
The patch you receive will be an original, new patch but some patches in the production run do vary slightly from patch to patch.

The $ 2.99 shipping and handling charge previously mentioned is for shipping and handling within the United States of America only.
To ship your item to you we will place the item in a cellophane envelope and then into a protective cardboard mailer.
After this the cardboard mailer will be placed into a protective bubble wrap mailer and mailed to you.
The shipping and handling charge will include the packing method described in the paragraph above and a shipping label produced using our family eBay account.
In doing so, it will include delivery confirmation along with barcode addressing.
When we ship the item you will receive an eBay Message from our family, with information which will allow you to track the shipment as it is delivered to you.
We feel barcode addressing expedites shipping therefore getting the item to you sooner.
This is the only shipping method our family run business has available.
We do not ship any item in an envelope or mailer without tracking
