This
22 year old patch
, the 1999 Broad-winged Hawk Patch, is part of a two patch collectible series issued by the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association.
This patch was to be the first patch issued in a yearly patch series.
The patches were to be issued by the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association. However after a second patch was issued in 2000, the association decided to discontinue these beautiful patches.
We will be offering the 2000 American Kestrel Patch for sale here on eBay in the near future.
The Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association is the governing body overseeing all operations of the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.
The Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a 2,600 Acre sanctuary located in Southeastern Pennsylvania near the town of Kempton, Pa.
The sanctuary center is open all year and includes an 8 mile ridge and valley trail system with many beautiful vistas allowing one to view migrating raptors.
Within the sanctuary complex is a visitor’s center, a bookstore, a scientific research center and a native plant garden.
All of the facilities at the sanctuary are operated to allow the general public to observe, view and enjoy large number of eagles, falcons and hawks as the migrate through the area in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a beautiful facility whose operation and mission is, as quoted from their website, “
to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility.”
The patch we are selling in this eBay Auction has come from this wonderful facility and is guaranteed to be an original patch purchased from the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association.
The patch features a Broad-winged Hawk in flight over one of the ridge tops at the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.
A bright blue fall sky has been added to the backdrop along with the rock outcropping at the ridge top to the foreground.
Both of these adding to the beauty of this patch.
Surrounding the Broad-winged Hawk in a step down banner arrangement, in orange / brown lettering is the organization’s name, “
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary
”.
Below the hawk, in bright blue lettering is the physical location of the sanctuary “
Kempton, Pa.
”. Directly below the hawk’s head in white lettering is the year this first patch was issued, “
1999
”.
Just below the tail of the hawk, also in white lettering is the name of the hawk featured in this patch, “
Broad-winged Hawk
” Surrounding all of this is a well-sewn outer edge border of light brown.
The patch we are selling in this eBay Auction contains 4 different sizes / styles of lettering, 7 different colors.  If you are a collector of patches, you know that the more colors in a patch and different sizes of letting, the more valuable the patch is.
This patch is no exception to this rule.
The patch we are selling in this eBay Listing and the patch you will receive are new / unused and have not been sewn on any garment, material or item.
The patch you will receive will be in excellent condition and the same as the one seen in the photographs. We do use stock photographs in our listing ads which means the patch you will receive may or may not vary slightly in color or patch detail.
The patch you receive will be an original, new patch but some patches in the production run do vary slightly from patch to patch.

Of noteworthy importance is this patch is very valuable as it is the first patch issued in this patch series.
First issue patches usually greatly appreciate in value as they are an important part of the patch series being they were the first patch issued by the organization doing so!

With this patch series being such a short issued series, these patches are sure to increase in value over time as they are no longer available from the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association.

To ship your item to you we will place the item in a plastic bag and then into a protective cardboard mailer.
After this the cardboard mailer will either be wrapped using bubble wrap or the cardboard mailer will be placed into a protective bubble wrap mailer and mailed to you.
Which packing method used will depend on the particular item you have won from us.
The shipping and handling charge will include the packing method described in the paragraph above and a shipping label produced using our business PayPal Account.
In doing so, it will include delivery confirmation along with barcode addressing.
When we ship the item you will receive an email notice, through our eBay Account, allowing you to track the shipment as it is delivered to you.
