    Description

    The Traveler was the portable version of the soundscriber dictation machine 1945. Ir recorded onto soft vinyl green discs which came in 3 sizes. It had two tone arms, a recording arm w/a diamond stylus to create the groove and a puck up arm w/a sapphire stylus for playback.
    Soundscribers were used for 20 years before being replaced by tape recorders. They were so ubiquitous that they easily found their way into popular media, including an appearance on the sitcom I Love Lucy 1951 and as major plot device in 1952 Joan Crawford film Noir Sudden Fearr
